FAQ: PRK and LASEK
- Good Morning, I've had Lasek performed one month ago at a laser center in Manhattan. My right eye began to experience ghosting last week. Can you tell me the cause of this? Should this go away gradually over the next few months? Thanks.
- My corneas measure 450 in my right eye and slightly thicker in my left, and I have been told I cant have LASEK :-( i have been told I may be suitable for Intra Ocular lenses, but I dont really want that. Can i get PRK?
- Some recent studies suggest that a surface ablation procedure such as LASEK or PRK may be an option for someone with a stable form of early forme fruste keratoconus. What is you take on this? I'm a 35 yrs old male (-4.5 in both eyes) with approx 518 / 530mu (LE / RE) with LE K1 / K2 41.8D / 43.2D and RE K1 / K2 41.6D / 42.7D. I've been to 3 surgeons for a pre-op; 1 has recommended against laser surgery, the other 2 have gone for LASEK and PRK respectively. Any thoughts?
- My appointment was with Drs. XYZ, and they suggested LESEK due to my thin corneas, then told me I could not have that either. My Prescription in my left eye is -3.50 and my right is -2.75.
- What is the average cost of the PRK procedure?
- I am wondering about the difference between Wavefront Guided LASEK versus Conventional LASEK. Is it possible for patients with moderate myopic and mild astigmatism (under 1.00) notice better results with versus someone who did conventional? Also, after the procedure, is it possible for surgeons to distinguish the difference between conventional and wavefront guided procedures. I am afraid of false advertisement. Thanks for your time.
